Unemployment Benefits

As of this writing, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported the unemployment rate was at 9.1 percent – approximately 13.9 million persons unemployed.

If you were recently laid off and now need financial assistance, know that you are not alone and there is help.

Below you will find a resource that will link you to each state’s Unemployment Insurance Program general information site.

There are certain eligibility requirements for unemployment benefits, typically restricted to those laid off or in a declared natural disaster location.

When applying, be prepared to provide at least the following information (check your state for a more complete list):

  • Social Security Number
  • Previous Employer information – name, address, phone, dates of employment (employer information for the last two years may be requested)
  • Telephone number to reach you
  • Driver’s License number
